Barbecue Sauces
About 2 Cups
Note: It is important to baste with barbecue sauces only during the
last 15 minutes of cooking. Longer cooking will make the spices
bitter.
Saute until brown:
¼ cup chopped onion
in:
1 tablespoon drippings or other fat
Add and simmer for 20 minutes:
½ cup water
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup Chili Sauce
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon mustard, or chili or curry powder |
