Haven't you at one time wished that food had no calories and you could eat as much as you want and still lose weight?  Ahh yes, it sounds like a Science Fiction novel fantasy for all those people that like to eat a little more then they should, but is it science fiction or science fact that these foods exist already?  The answer to that question is a definite yes.  I can see that you're about to shut off this webpage and call the author of the page a quack, but let me explain a little more and then I might make a believer out of you as well.

Okay, so the term "negative calorie" food is the first wrong statement of this page, because all food contains calories, however, how the body processes these foods is where we get the negative calorie statement from.  "Negative Calorie Foods" are foods that take up more caloric energy to digest then the calories that are in them.  Your body has to expend energy in order to digest and absorb foods, in fact, 10% of your daily caloric intake is used to process foods in your body.  So these "negative" calorie foods are foods that take more calories to digest then actual calories in the item of food.  Remember, negative calorie foods are discussed in their natural state, if you cook, add butter, and other things to them it changes the caloric makeup of the food.

So, now that we know what these "negative" calorie foods do, how can we use them to help us lose weight?  Keeping a diet, any diet, involves a reduction of calories, but a reduction of calories often leaves us with hunger cravings because our body has become used to a certain feeling of fullness.  Here is where the negative calorie foods can be used to the best possible result.  Why do you break your diet?  I guess there are many reasons for this, but the main reason is that your body is used to being full...so how do you still feel full and still keep a low calorie diet?  Simple, keep the low-calorie diet and add these negative calorie foods to help you through the cravings.  Please click on the link above that reads Negative Calorie Foods to find a list of the foods that are considered negative calorie.

I don't write out a specific diet plan for these negative calorie foods, I'm sure if you look around the net you can find an exact diet plan for them, but I would prefer that you use the negative calorie foods to supplement a diet that you feel comfortable with, because different diets work for different people.
