Chow Chow Pickles

1 head green cabbage
1 dozen green tomatoes
1 or 2 red peppers
1 or 2 green peppers
4 cups sugar
1 quart red cider vinegar
1 teaspoon celery seed
3 tablespoons allspice

Use old hand grinder (or food processor) to grind cabbage, tomatoes and peppers together. Mix sugar, vinegar and spices in saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. Add cabbage mixture and bring to a boil again. Cook about 3 to 5 minutes. Pour into pint jars and seal. Good with peas and greens.
