Pasta Flora

1 c. sweet butter
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
½ jigger cognac
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp vanilla
Additional flour
Sm. Jar apricot marmalade

Beat butter with sugar until it becomes white. Add eggs, one at a time. Add cognac and beat well. Add 2 cups flour,
baking powder and vanilla; mix well. Remove a quarter of this mixture and set aside. Spread remaining mixture in a
greased 9x13-inch pan. Spread the apricot marmalade on top of mixture. To the remaining quarter of mixture, add
enough flour to make it the consistency of cookie dough. Knead well. Roll this mixture into strips and place them on top
of the marmalade in a criss-cross pattern. Brush strips with milk. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.
