Chicken with Okra

1 ½ lb. fresh okra or 2 pkg. frozen okra
Garlic salt
Vinegar
3 lb. chicken, cut up
Salt & pepper
¼ c. butter
1 med. onion, chopped
8 oz. can tomato sauce
Water

Wash okra. Cut off stem ends, being careful not to cut off the tops. Sprinkle with garlic salt and vinegar and let stand 1
hour.

Season chicken with salt and pepper. Melt butter in frying pan and brown slightly. Remove chicken. Add onions and
sauté until golden. Remove onions from pan and transfer to kettle. Add chicken, tomato sauce and water. Bring to a boil,
then lower heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. Add okra and simmer until chicken and okra are tender.
