Kanella (Cinnamon Nut Sticks)
½ c. butter
½ c. granulated sugar
½ c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
2 T. cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 ¼ c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 to 2 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp salt
1 c. ground walnuts
Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Add egg, cream and vanilla and
beat well. Sift flour with baking powder, cinnamon
and salt. Gradually add to batter. Stir in nuts. Pinch off pieces of
dough the size of a walnut and roll into pencil-like
sticks. Taper ends and place on baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees
for 12 minutes.
