Buttermilk Walnut Cake

2 c. regular farina
2 c. sugar
6 lg. eggs, beaten
1 lb. Crushed walnuts
2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 ¾ sticks melted butter
2 tsp. baking powder

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until well blended. Pour into a well-greased 10x15 1/2x2-inch pan. Bake in preheated
375 degree oven for 1 hour.

While cake is baking, make the syrup by boiling the following for 10 minutes: 3 cups sugar, juice of ½ lemon, 3 cups
water. Pour this cooled syrup over cake evenly as soon as it comes out of the oven. This cake freezes beautifully. To
serve, cut into diamond-shaped pieces.
