Number of players: Any
The Deck: Up to six players may use a standard
52 card deck. Seven or eight players may use a double pack.
Rank of Cards: Ace (high), King, Queen, Jack,
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.
The Draw: Low deals, with ace being low in
the draw.
Shuffle and cut: The dealer shuffles and
the player on the right then cuts.
The Deal: Seven cards to each player dealt
one at a time in rotation. The rest of the pack is positioned face
down in the center of the table to become the stack.
Object of the game: The goal is to be the
first to have played all of his or her cards.
The play: The person to the left of the dealer
is the leader, and may lead any card. Each participant in turn must
follow suit or play a card of the same denomination as the card
led. Example: If the jack of diamons is led, each player in turn
is required to play nay jack or any diamond. A player who is unable
to so play is required to draw from the stack until he or she can.
When the stack is exhausted and the player can't play, then he or
she simply does not play the trick. As between cars of identical
rank, the one played first outranks the other. The winner of each
trick leads the next.
Scoring: The first player to get rid of all
cards wins the game, and collects from each other player the face
value of the cards remaining in that player's hands. Aces count
one and face cards ten each. Other cards for their face value.
Game. Each deal may constitute a game. The
play continues until one player has scored 200 points or after each
deal, each player may be charged with the points held in hand, and
play continues until one player shows minus 100. At this point,
the lowest score is declared the game winner.
