The player with the best memory should win
this game.
Number of Players: Any number from two up.
The Deck: Standard 52 card deck.
The Deal: Any player may shuffle the deck
and then lay the cards out face down, one at a time. No two cards
should either overlap at the corners or touch one another. The entire
surface of the table is usually required so the cards have enough
room.
Object of the game: To take in pairs of cards
of the same denomination, such as two nines or two kings.
The play:
The on who plays first may be selected in
any manner. Each player in turn must reverse any two cards on the
table, leaving the first face up until he has turned the second.
If the two cards form a pair, he takes them and turns up tow more
cards. Whenever the two cards he turns up do not form a pair, he
turns both cards face down again, letting them remain in exactly
the same position on the table they were in when he first turned
them. The turn to play now goes to the player at his left.
Scoring. Either of these alternative methods
is to be decided upon at the beginning. 1. The player who takes
in the greatest number of pairs receives on counter, or chip, or
point, from each other player in the game. Should two players tie
for the highest number of tricks, they split the winnings. 2. Each
player collects one counter from each other player for every pair
he has taken in.
