| Lucy: Well, we decided
to jointly write this article because Jackie thought I would
be unfair to her in this discussion of two dogs growing up together
and getting fed at the same time Jackie: I asked
to be included in this article because Lucy has always claimed
that I ate more then my share of food when we were growing
up. So, to make sure this article is fair and unbiased
to the slightly dominant dog, I decided to write a little
bit of this article as well.
Lucy: Well, first off, who said you were the dominant
dog? We'll save that for another article, but lets get
down to the basics of feeding two dogs in one household.
Here is a basic guideline:
- The human should be present during the feeding...as
to make sure the dominant dog doesn't over eat its share
of the food and go to the poor defenseless sister's share.
- Each dog must have its own bowl. Its the only
way to fairly dish out the supper between the two dogs.
- If the dogs are too competitive you may have to feed
them separately.
Lucy: There are the basics of what you should do when
you have two dogs to feed in your household.
Jackie: Just one side comment, "poor defenseless
sister" oh HA, you always pretended to be defenseless
and made me look bad in front of our human mother.
Lucy: I can't help it if you were always caught red-handed
Jackie: I was not, I can't help it if I happened to
be more athletically inclined then some people I know.
Lucy: Are you saying I'm not athletically inclined?
Jackie: Well, I didn't say that, I just said that some
of us happen to burn off a little more calories each day and
needed a little more food then the more sedentary lap dog
types.
Lucy: LAPDOG! oh, I forgot, so ends this article
for now...we'll talk about sibling rivalry in a future article
and hopefully we won't choose this public forum to discuss
our personal problems. Isn't that right Jackie?
Jackie: Yes, we'll calmly discuss it, like the two
professional journalist we are.
Lucy: Always remember, have separate feeding bowls,
monitor the dogs, and make sure one dog doesn't eat the other
dogs food. Jackie and I will be going off for some dinner
now...if she doesn't eat it all on me :o)
