I've been collecting celebrity autographs for many years and I find it to be a fun, rewarding hobby. As you can imagine I have an extensive collection ranging many celebrities. Now, with the amount of time I've been at this I do have a few pointers for you:

• Always send a SASE (Self addressed stamped envelope). Celebrities get alot of requests for photos, letters, etc, and most will not return your letter if you don't include a SASE.
• Be polite and courteous, you are much more likely to get a response if you know a little about the person you're writing to and it wouldn't hurt to say what a fan you are of the person. Don't just ask for a photo. A little note of some kind would be useful.
• Now, the last tip, even though this is less of a tip and more of a fact, don't expect a quick response. You can end up waiting for months, even a full year before you get a response from some celebrities. Some celebrities are quicker to respond, but don't expect this to be the general rule for all celebrities.
