Dutch Apple Cake

1 STICK BUTTER
2 EGGS
1 TSP VANILLA
1 TSP BAKING POWDER
1/2 TSP SALT
1 CUP SUGAR
1 CUP SOUR CREAM
2 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR
1 TSP BAKING SODA
1 MEDIUM APPLE

TOPPING

1/2 CUP CHOPPED NUTS
3 TSP CINNAMON
1/2 CUP SUGAR

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, mix thoroughly. Add sour cream, vanilla, set aside. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add dry ingredients to liquid ingredients and mix well.

Spread half of batter in a greased 9" spring form pan. Place sliced apples over batter, sprinkle with half of the topping. Add rest of batter and sprinkle rest of topping over batter. Cut through with the tip of a knife to swirl through cake. Bake 45 minutes in a 325 degree oven.
